Can’t believe you made it to the About page… Congrats!

I was inspired to begin a blog after arriving home from a trip to Paris. I needed a place to write down what was happening around me because it was unlike anything I had seen before. My trip consisted of all the normal tourist activities including visiting the Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysees and seeing the Mona Lisa at the Louvre. I ate well and drank better – it was everything I expected for my first time in France and it was spectacular. However, at midnight something magical occurred – it was as if I was transported back in time. Once the clock struck midnight, everything changed and suddenly it became the 1920s – the golden age of literature. I drank with the likes F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, chatted with Gertrude Stein,  had a cigar with Salvador Dali, and even enjoyed a stroll…

Wait, are you sure I’m describing Owen Wilson’s character from Midnight in Paris and not my life? Damn, you caught me. His story is just a lot more interesting than mine so I figured I could interchange it and no one would notice. But you did, good for you!

In reality, My name is Matt Finkel. I’m 24 years old and currently living in New York City. I have a myriad of thoughts throughout the day spanning many different topics. This is where I will write down some of those thoughts with topics including but not limited to sports, music, movies, television, pop culture, photography, technology, the media, politics, and leisure activities such as golf, ping pong and billiards. Everyone I know calls me “Fink” as it is a catchy abbreviation to my last name – so this is simply what fink thinks.
